Ace Sanders suspended 10 games

Receiver Ace Sanders recently flunked a drug test.

PFT has confirmed that Sanders has been suspended for the first 10 games of the season under the substance-abuse policy. He is eligible to participate in all preseason activities, including games. His suspension becomes effective when the rosters reduce to 53 after the preseason finale.

A fourth-round pick of the Jaguars in the 2013 draft, Sanders previously was suspended four games, which happens after multiple violations of the policy. Under the old version of the policy, he would have been suspended for at least a full year.

Sanders was cut last month by Jacksonville, unclaimed on waivers, and to date unsigned. The suspension will run even if he’s not on a team. It’s unlikely that anyone will sign him until he’s reinstated.

As long as he doesn’t start hanging out with Josh Gordon or Justin Balckmun there id still a tiny bit if hope for him eventually sobering up.

I’m sure Goodell will reduce it because it isnt the patriots. He’s good like that.

    That is also a change.

Before if you were suspended it only counted when you were on a roster, meaning it had the effect of being a scarlet letter on fringe players, because once signed THEN they had to serve the suspension.

What’s the point of picking up one of these fringe guys if they were just going to be suspended?

So that definitely is a change.

Weed isn’t addictive, they said. I can quit anytime I want, they said.

So many of these young dudes ruining their lives over weed. I get that it may be a better option than opiates for your body and managing the pain…but one is legal and the other isn’t…so you have to make a choice that allows you to continue to earn a damn good living.

    Dude is an idiot…
Two failed drug tests and I’ll bet he still doesn’t get it.

This league would be better without him.

    Way to go Ace.
