Cowboys Kenneth Boatright taken to hospital after possible neck injury

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Kenneth Boatright was taken off the practice field on a backboard and stretcher on Thursday after colliding with tackle Tyron Smith.

According to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Cowboys did not speculate on the extent of Boatright’s injuries, but said he was moving his legs before departing via ambulance.

“It’s just unfair to say anything until we get a report on it. So we’re just waiting for that report,” vice president Stephen Jones said. “Going back to look at the tape but I haven’t seen it for sure. I think there’s varying reports and we’re trying to confirm how it exactly happened. It was some collision with Tyron. The question is whether he got hut on the side or on the top.”

Boatright is in his second season with the Cowboys after appearing in one game for Dallas last year. He spent time with the Seattle Seahawks in 2013, but landed on injured reserve after an injury in training camp.
