Sam Bradford “really happy” with how knee feels

The Eagles were missing two of their offseason acquisitions at practice on Thursday, but quarterback Sam Bradford was on the field for a fourth straight practice.

Bradford has been getting the majority of the work with the first team and hasn’t had his reps managed to ease him back in after two torn ACLs in the last two years. Ramping up his workload hasn’t come with any problems thus far.

“I think I feel better than what I was expecting,” Bradford said, via CSNPhilly.com. “I thought my knee would hold up, but I wasn’t sure. I hadn’t put it through four days of practice, coming into camp, but the way my knee feels right now, it feels great. So I’m really happy with where I’m at right now.”

The Eagles open their preseason schedule on August 16 against the Colts and that will be Bradford’s first meeting with a defense allowed to tee off on him since he was injured in a preseason game against the Browns last summer. That will be a new test for Bradford’s knee and passing it will have him on a clear line to the starting lineup in Week One.
