Browns bring in a pair of veterans not named Ray Rice

At a time when the football-following world is following among other things the question of whether the Browns will sign veteran running back Ray Rice, the Browns have added a pair of other veterans with recognizable -- but not notorious -- names.

The Browns have announced the signing of defensive end Everette Brown and cornerback Aaron Ross.

Brown was a second-round pick of the Panthers in 2009, who has bounced around the league and most recently played in Washington. Ross (pictured), a first-round pick of the Giants in 2007, owns a pair of Super Bowl rings and played for the Giants, Jaguars, and Ravens. He missed all of 2014 with an Achilles injury.

To make room for the veterans, the Browns dumped offensive lineman Joe Madsen and defensive lineman Christian Tupou.
