The Saints may not be publicly announcing their roster moves, but they were required to privately provide them to the league. Per a league source, here are the moves made by the Saints to get to 53 players.
Waived were linebacker Justin Anderson, running back Edwin Baker, tackle Nick Becton, tight end Orson Charles (who is suspended for Week One), linebacker Henry Coley, linebacker Jerry Franklin, guard Mike Golic, quarterback Ryan Griffin, tackle Bryce Harris, tackle Sean Hickey, kicker Dustin Hopkins (whose contract is partially guaranteed), defensive back Stanley Jean-Baptiste (whose contract is partially guaranteed), receiver Seantavius Jones, guard Cyril Lemon, tight end Chris Manhertz, running back Toben Opurum, defensive back Sammy Seamster, and defensive back Pierre Warren.
The Saints also cut four vested veterans: linebacker Parys Haralson, receiver Joe Morgan (pictured), receiver Josh Morgan, and tight end Alex Smith.
The veterans instantly become free agents, and the others pass through waivers.
