Colts claim a pair off waivers

The Colts placed defensive tackle Arthur Jones on injured reserve Saturday and cut Montori Hughes and Josh Chapman, which left them a little light on the defensive line.

They remedied that Sunday by adding defensive tackle T.Y. McGill off of waivers from the Seahawks. McGill’s addition gives the Colts six defensive linemen and two players going by the first name T.Y., which we’re prepared to say is a first in NFL history.

McGill got some praise during the summer while trying to make the Seattle roster, including a vote from Jayson Jenks of the Seattle Times as the team’s most surprising cut. There’s certainly less competition in Indianapolis and much less experience as Kendall Langford is the only current Colts defensive lineman who has ever started a regular season game.

The Colts addressed another area of need by claiming guard Robert Myers off waivers from the Ravens. The 2015 fifth-round pick joins Lance Louis, Todd Herremans and Hugh Thornton at guard for the Colts.
