Titans shuffle linebackers

Miami Dolphins v Chicago Bears

Jonathan Daniel

The Titans decided to shuffle up their linebacking corps a day after setting their 53-man roster.

The team claimed David Bass and Steven Johnson off of waivers and parted ways with Jonathan Massaquoi and Justin Staples.

Bass was a seventh-round pick of the Raiders in 2013, but wound up being waived at the end of his first camp and landed with the Bears. He had four sacks in 20 games for Chicago over the last two seasons while playing defensive end. He moved to outside linebacker this offseason as the Bears changed schemes and will likely back up Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan with the Titans.

Johnson spent the last three seasons with the Broncos and started seven times at inside linebacker during the 2014 season. He had 32 tackles and a half-sack in Denver and will joins Avery Williamson, Zack Brown and Wesley Woodyard at inside linebacker with Tennessee.
