We’re not even to game day, and teams are already running into injury problems.
According to Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star, the Chiefs have placed offensive lineman Paul Fanaika on injured reserve.
Fanaika was apparently injured at some point this week, after they made their final cuts to a 53-man roster.
He started at right tackle in the preseason when Eric Fisher was injured, but was a depth player once everyone was well. The Chiefs signed him this offseason to a three-year deal, bringing him in from Arizona. He entered the league as a seventh-round pick of the Eagles, when Andy Reid coached there.
To replace him on the roster, they’ve brought back linebacker Dezman Moses, who was released when they claimed tight end Brian Parker off waivers from the Chargers.
