Nothing went right for the Raiders in Sunday’s first half, and quarterback Derek Carr leaving the game in the second quarter with an injury was probably the worst of all that happened.

Carr was hit near the sideline by Bengals cornerback Adam Jones while scrambling. He fumbled but the ball went out of bounds, and after a short conversation with team medical staff on the sideline Carr was taken to the locker room.

Matt McGloin replaced him and then started the second half.

The Raiders are calling it a hand injury and saying Carr’s return to the game is questionable. McGloin starting the second half is a sign that Carr won’t return.

The Raiders were facing a fourth and one situation after Carr took the hit, and they inserted McGloin at quarterback. He handed off to Latavius Murray, who was stopped for no gain.

The Bengals scored with seven seconds left in the half to make it 24-0, and McGloin was intercepted on the Raiders’ first series of the second half.
