Defensive tackle Devon Still, who has fans across America rooting for him as a result of his daughter’s battle with cancer, had a tryout today with the Colts.

Still was released by the Bengals at the end of the preseason, and has been out of work since. Last year when Still didn’t make the 53-man roster at the end of camp, the Bengals put him on the practice squad in part to make sure he was able to provide for his daughter, Leah. But Still is no longer practice squad eligible.

Indianapolis, which is thin on the defensive line after the loss of Arthur Jones, could be a good fit for Still. Colts coach Chuck Pagano, a cancer survivor himself, would surely like to do anything he can to help, although the Colts’ interest is primarily about getting some help on the defensive front.

Leah Still’s cancer is now in remission, but she has continued to face health problems and was unable to pick up an award at the ESPYs in July because of concerns about her immune system.
