Bernard Pollard gets a workout with the Raiders

A former Raven who was dumped by Baltimore received an opportunity to possibly face his old team.

Per a league source, the Raiders gave safety Bernard Pollard a tryout on Friday.

Pollard, an outspoken player who seven years ago popped the ACL of Tom Brady with a low hit, played in 2013 and 2014 for the Titans. Before that, he spent two years with the Ravens, two with the Texans, and three with the Chiefs.

He won a Super Bowl ring in 2012 with the Ravens, but he was cut not long after that. Some think he was released for his role in a near “mutiny” that occurred during the season over whether the team would practice in pads. The two main players identified in that incident -- Pollard and Ed Reed -- didn’t return in 2013.

Last year, Pollard used phrases like “piss poor horrible” and “sucked butt” to describe the Titans. So maybe the Raiders gave him a workout because being familiar with bad teams is sort of liking knowing the defense already.
