The Lions had veteran safety Stevie Brown in for a workout on Tuesday.

Brown, 28, started 19 games with the Giants over 2012 and 2014. He missed all of 2013 with after tearing his ACL.

Brown has played in 55 career games since entering the league as a seventh-round pick of the Raiders in 2010. He had all eight of his career interceptions in 2012, when he also forced two fumbles and had a career-best 56 tackles.

He played 2014 on a one-year contract, and after signing with the Texans last May he was cut by the Texans in late August. He returned to the Giants, who were dealing with a bunch of injuries at safety at the time, but was cut after the final preseason game.
