Cowboys rookie La’el Collins will make his first career start on Sunday.

Collins will be the Cowboys’ starting left guard, Executive V.P. Stephen Jones announced on his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan. In Week Two, Collins split time at left guard with Mackenzy Bernadeau.

I’m pretty excited. The work is done. I’m prepared and I look forward to going out there this weekend,” Collins said, via the Star-Telegram.

Collins was expected to be a first-round draft pick but went undrafted after his ex-girlfriend was murdered and teams were concerned that he could have been a suspect. Shortly after the draft, police said they had ruled Collins out as a suspect.
