The career of Montee Ball has taken a downward turn, but he’s still trying to make it in the NFL.
Ball, the former Broncos running back who’s been a free agent since he got the boot in Denver, tried out with the Patriots today.
The 24-year-old Ball had 175 carries for 731 yards in two seasons with the Broncos. He wouldn’t seem to be a great fit in New England, nor are the Patriots in need of another running back, but the Patriots are at least interested enough to see what kind of shape he’s in.
New England also tried out tight end Brandon Bostick, quarterback Zac Dysert, tight end Brian Leonhardt, running back Darrin Reaves and tight end Konrad Reuland.
