The Redskins are going need a new starter at left guard.

Shawn Lauvao has been placed on season-ending injured reserve as a result of the ankle injury that knocked him out of last Thursday’s loss to the Giants. Lauvao started 18-of-19 games for Washington since signing with them before the start of last season and was the team’s best interior run blocker early this season.

Josh LeRibeus, Tom Compton, Spencer Long and Arie Kouandjio are all options to take Lauvao’s spot up front.

Cornerback Justin Rogers has also been placed on injured reserve with a foot injury. Lauvao and Rogers join a list of players lost for the season to injuries that includes linebacker Junior Galette, safety Duke Ihenacho, tight end Niles Paul and special teams stalwart Adam Hayward.

To fill the open spots on the roster, the Redskins have signed veteran linebacker Mason Foster and promoted cornerback Quinton Dunbar from the practice squad.
