Eagles apparently reverse course on Washington name

On Wednesday, it appeared that the Philadelphia Eagles had quietly stopped using the nickname of the NFL team in Washington. It now appears that the Eagles have quietly resumed using it again.

The front page of the official Eagles website now contains on the right rail an ad that uses the name of the Washington team. Likewise, a Facebook post that previously trumpeted “Eagles at Washington” has been revised to use both teams’ nicknames. And a Twitter post that contained an invitation to watch or listen to “Eagles vs. Washington” has been deleted.

So either Jimmy Graham is running the Eagles’ Twitter page, or the Eagles have reversed course.

PFT has sent three requests for comment to the Eagles about the situation. The team has not yet responded.
