Jaguars placing Brandon Linder on injured reserve

The Jaguars will be down one of their starting guards for the rest of the 2015 season.

The team will place right guard Brandon Linder on injured reserve due to a torn labrum in his shoulder. Linder started the first three games of the season before missing Sunday’s loss to the Colts because of the injury, which will require surgery.

Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports that he initially suffered the injury in practice before the team’s Week Three game against the Patriots, so Linder was able to play through it for one week before the determination was made that he’d need further medical intervention.

2015 third-rounder A.J. Cann started in Linder’s place against the Colts and will presumably remain in that role now that Linder’s done for the year.
