A bad season for the Lions may soon get worse with the news that Detroit’s best defensive player may be done for the season.
Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy finally made his 2015 debut on Sunday after missing the first four games of the season with a hip injury. He lasted less than a half before aggravating the injury, and today coach Jim Caldwell acknowledged that Levy could be done for the year.
“Yeah, I think, obviously the doctors will make that final determination on that,” Caldwell said. “They’ll look at him closely. They’ll make some evaluation and see where he is.”
The 0-5 Lions signed Levy to a four-year, $33 million contract in August. It may be until 2016 before they get any return on that investment.
