Getty ImagesThe Ravens have plenty of problems at the moment, but now even the guys they’re bringing in on the fly to try to fix things are falling by the wayside.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Ravens cornerback Will Davis suffered a torn ACL in yesterday’s overtime loss to the Browns.
Davis was acquired in a trade with the Dolphins, when the Ravens desperately needed secondary help.
The former third-rounder, who was acquired for a seventh-rounder, had played well in his short time in Baltimore.
That’s not the kind of news a 1-4 team needs, though it does help explain how teams end up 1-4.
Baltimore, where CBs go to suffer season-ending injuries.
Now his name will be changed to Won’t Davis
Injuries are never an excuse but the Ravens have been incredibly unlucky over the past few years. No team can win without their star players on the field.
As if losing to the Browns at home wasn’t bad enough…
Get him on that *cough* training regimen that got Suggs and Ray Lewis back on the field so quickly
Ravens Nation, what happened this year? Is this Harbaugh being too soft of the team? Is this inexperience after losing our veteran leaders? Is this Star Players not performing up to their contracts? I don’t understand how the Ravens look so terrible. Resembles nothing of the team that has been in the playoffs over the last 6 years…
I think this is all part of Ozzie’s plan – try to grab a top 5 #1 pick next year.

The Ravens are a walking MASH unit!
I didn’t even put Dennis Pitta on the list.
Will Davis suffered a similar injury last season. His NFL career may be just about over.
Ravens should just have fun with this year. Nobody is getting fired and Flacco isn’t going anywhere, but it will give them a chance to get a premium player near the top of the draft next spring. Too bad this isn’t Frournette’s year though. However, like the Chiefs can use this to get a real QB next year, the Ravens can get another pass rusher to replace Suggs eventually because without him rushing the passer, that defense is noticeably different.
Ravens are having a rough year injury wise, but the truth is the Ravens haven’t actually looked that good against anyone but the Steelers and Patriots in quite some time. Barely scraped by Jacksonville to make the playoffs last year.
3-13 at best.
Boy that sux………………….says a Patriots fan!
I think we’re reaching the point that when you refer to the 1-4 Ravens.., you’re now talking about where their next Draft selection will be.
Tough break. Literally.
Tis the curse of Chris McAlister
It also explains why Philbin should have never been hired. Vontae Davis is a top cover corner and he gave him away for a second rounder. Davis never played well in Miami because of coaching and played better in Baltimore than he ever did in Miami. Long, Dansby, Bush, Odrick, Starks, Marshall, Clay, and Soliai all gone. All that leadership and talent tossed out the door and guys that were good regressed. Davone Bess was a great 3rd down and short yardage security blanket and somehow he fell off the deep end once Philbin and company came in. Such an awful hire.
Not to mention all of the holes throughout the roster and the spending of the entire salary cap on Suh. Whom to this date is raking in millions to leave quarterbacks alone.
I think there are a lot more teams with a lot more injuries in terms of star players than the Ravens.
He has some upside and is a feisty player. Problem is so far in his NFL career is that he can’t stay healthy.
Can’t help any team if he’s constantly hurt. Tuff luck.

Dude, Bess fell off the deep end all on his own. His best days were with the Dolphins… as were Longs, Bush, Starks and others. Soliaia was a late bloomer and it was Miami that got him overpaid in Atlanta. Same with Clay….
