Cop apologizes for traffic stop photo with Cowboys running back

A Texas state trooper faces discipline, after turning a traffic stop into a photo op with Cowboys running back Christine Michael.

According to the Associated Press, Michael’s Bentley was stopped on a Dallas-area highway because it appeared to violate window-tint laws (and we won’t even get into all the pretext and profiling that goes with that).

But Michael apparently discussed the tint issue with the cop, and no citation was issued. At that point the trooper asked for a photo, which Michael also shared on Instagram.

Department of Public Safety Sgt. Lonny Haschel said the trooper, whose name wasn’t released, has apologized for the judgment error.

That’s one of the things he should apologize for (including that hat), but posing in a cheesy Village People stance after being starstruck by a third-string running back on a 2-3 team is also high on the list.
