Eagles win despite Sam Bradford, he knows it, vows to fix it

The Eagles weren’t going to let Sam Bradford’s interceptions cost them an easy division win.

But make no mistake, they can’t let Bradford continue throwing picks at this rate.

His three picks were all on attempts to move the ball downfield, the last one in the end zone. That’s four times he’s been picked in the end zone this year, and no other quarterback in the league has more than one.

“It’s something that I’ve never had a problem with in my career,” Bradford said, via Corey Seidman of CSNPhilly.com. “I’ve never really thrown a lot of interceptions. But we’re gonna get it fixed. I’m gonna get it fixed.”

Bradford referred to his interceptions as “Just a terrible throw,” “I just wasn’t on the same page with Coop,” and “a little bit behind him,” as if he were naming his kids.

But teams are families, and the Eagles were able to overcome Bradford’s mistakes last night, but they knows he needs to start pulling his weight soon.

"[Bradford’s] getting more familiar in terms of what we’re doing, but we can’t continue to do that against really good football teams,” Eagles coach Chip Kelly said. “We were fortunate that we did it and got away with it today, but in this league you can’t do that and sustain winning.”

What that means for Bradford’s future there, this year and beyond, remains to be seen, as we’re a month and a half into the season and they’re still making excuses for him.
