The Chiefs defense limited Adrian Peterson last Sunday and the Vikings running back remained limited at practice on Wednesday.
A finger injury was listed as the reason why Peterson didn’t take on a full workload. Peterson had a member of the training staff looking at and retaping his hand after he left the victory over Kansas City late in the fourth quarter. Matt Asiata took over for the final few plays.
The injury was the capper to a rough day for Peterson overall. He had a 23-yard run on the Vikings’ first offensive play of the second half, but had 37 yards on his 25 other carries as the Chiefs were able to keep him bottled up for the majority of the afternoon.
Defensive tackle Shariff Floyd joined defensive end Everson Griffen as a non-participant on Wednesday. Asiata was limited with a rib injury and a knee injury kept right tackle T.J. Clemmings from fully taking part.
