Von Miller: Broncos defense isn’t getting enough love

Through the first six weeks of the 2015 season, two topics have generally dominated all discussion about the Broncos.

One is Peyton Manning’s play, particularly how little he resembles the quarterback that we’ve watched for the better part of the last two decades and whether the Broncos can make a deep playoff run if he continues to look that way. The second is that it sometimes doesn’t seem to matter how Manning looks because the Broncos defense has been so overwhelming this season.

Linebacker Von Miller either isn’t hearing those conversations about the defense or he’s looking for all other topics of conversation about the team to come to a halt. Miller feels that the unit isn’t getting enough respect and hopes to change that against the Packers when the team returns from a bye week in Week Eight.

“It’s a big-time game going against a big-time offense. Aaron Rodgers on Sunday Night Football,” Miller said, via the Denver Post. “It’s going to be a time where we can go show everybody what the Broncos defense is all about. I still don’t think we are getting the love we should get. In prime time, we should be able to prove our point.”

There’s no doubt that a strong showing on national TV bumps up profiles, but anyone who isn’t already singing the praises of what the Broncos defense has done thus far hasn’t been paying close enough attention.
