The Raiders likely will be down a couple of defensive linemen on Sunday at San Diego. So they have called up one in advance of the Week Seven contest against the Chargers.
Defensive end Shelby Harris, a seventh-round pick in 2014, has been added to the 53-man roster. He has played in one career game, spending the rest of his time on the team’s practice squad.
To create a spot for Harris, the Raiders released safety Tevin McDonald, who got the we-need-to-get-rid-of-someone short straw instead of recently-re-signed safety Taylor Mays.
Raiders defensive tackle Denico Autry is out with a concussion, and defensive tackle Justin Ellis is doubtful, due to an ankle injury. Earlier this week, veteran defensive end Justin Tuck was placed on injured reserve.
