Rams cut LB Dunbar, promote DT Worthington

St. Louis Rams v Minnesota Vikings

AP

The Rams made some linebacker-related moves Tuesday, placing Alec Ogletree on injured-reserve/designated for return and releasing the player they signed following Ogletree’s injury, Jo-Lonn Dunbar.

The Rams brought Dunbar back on Oct. 6 but he was not active for games vs. the Packers and Browns. Safety Mark Barron has been playing linebacker in Ogletree’s absence.

Defensive tackle Doug Worthington was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster.

Worthington, 28, finished last season on the Rams’ practice squad, signed a futures contract after the season and was released at the end of the preseason. He last played in a regular-season game in 2012 with the Redskins. Worthington entered the league as a seventh-round pick of the Steelers in 2010.
