Cassel says Dez is bringing energy to practice

Dez Bryant, Tony Romo

Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant is back on the practice field for the first time since his Week One foot injury, and his quarterback likes what he sees.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, that quarterback is not Tony Romo but Matt Cassel, who wasn’t even on the team the last time Bryant practiced. Cassel said he was pleased to work with Bryant for the first time today.

“It’s great to have him out here. He brings a special energy to the huddle. He’s a guy that brings great excitement, enthusiasm, coming out of every play he’s high-fiving people,” Cassel said on NFL Network. “I think it’s a work in progress to build our rapport, build our relationship.”

Cassel said the Cowboys are preparing for a tough game Sunday against the Seahawks.

“You’re gonna have to bring your lunch pail, you’re gonna have to put on your hard hat and get to work on Sunday because you know it’s gonna be a physical game and you know it’s not gonna be easy.”

Nothing will be easy for the Cowboys until Romo gets back. But having Bryant on the field gives them some hope that their offense will finally start making plays.
