Fired Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt seems to realize that coaching is a results business, and he didn’t get results.

Whisenhunt, who was fired this morning after going 3-20 as the Titans’ head coach, released a statement through the Titans in which he acknowledged that he didn’t get the job done.

“My family and I are grateful for our time in Nashville and my opportunity to work for the Titans. I am sorry we weren’t able to get it done in our time here. Our players and staff were great to work with and I want to thank them for their dedication and hard work. I also want to thank the fans for their support and I wish the organization success moving forward.”

Whisenhunt lost 11 of his last 12 games as head coach of the Cardinals, meaning he’s now 4-31 in his last 35 games as a head coach. He knows he didn’t get the job done in his second shot at coaching an NFL team, and he’s unlikely to get a third shot.
