On the same day the Titans fired a former tight end as their coach and promoted a former tight end who coached their tight ends, the Titan tried out four tight ends.

Via the league’s transaction report, Michael Egnew, Kevin Greene, Connor Hamlet, and Ryan Taylor showed the powers-that-be what they can do, with free-agent quarterback Christian Ponder getting a chance to catch the team’s eye by throwing the passes that the tight ends caught.

Linebacker Yannick Cudjoe-Virgil also got a look-see from the Titans.

The 1-6 Titans play the Saints on Sunday, with Mularkey having five days to prepare for his debut.
