Saints missing several defensive standouts against Titans

The Saints are going to have to play a Marcus Mariota-led Titans team this weekend, and they’re going to have to do it without a number of defensive contributors.

According to Evan Woodberry of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Saints have already ruled out linebackers Dannell Ellerbe, Hau’oli Kikaha and Ramon Humber and cornerback Damian Swann, along with backup quarterback Luke McCown.

Kikaha hasn’t practiced this week because of an ankle this week, and his absence is a significant one against any quarterback.

The second-rounder leads the Saints and is tied for the rookie lead with four sacks this year. They’re not sufficiently deep there that it won’t be noticed.
