Dolphins gamble before half, give away points.

Dan Campbell

Dolphins interim coach Dan Campbell chose to go for a touchdown from the 1-yard line with two seconds left in the first half instead of kicking the field goal.

That move cost his team three points.

Ryan Tannehill’s pass to Dion Sims fell incomplete, thanks in large part to good defense by Stephon Gilmore. The Bills lead, 19-7.

It was a pass interference penalty on Gilmore -- and a smart one -- with two seconds left in the end zone that left the Dolphins with one play left in the half and a choice to make. Gilmore knew to take the penalty to prevent a touchdown and force the Dolphins to have just one more snap.

Sammy Watkins has 104 yards receiving for the Bills. LeSean McCoy has run for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Lamar Miller only has 17 rushing yards but he has the Dolphins’ lone touchdown.
