The Colts got a significant win last night, for the purposes of the standings and the general morale.

But that took a hit Monday, with the news they’ve likely lost a key part of their defense.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, defensive end Henry Anderson is believed to have torn his ACL.

They’re still waiting for an MRI to confirm, but don’t seem optimistic at this point. Coach Chuck Pagano described it as “pretty significant” after the win over the Broncos.

Anderson, a third-round pick from Stanford, had replaced injured veteran Art Jones in their line rotation and had started every game.

UPDATE 12:23 p.m. ET: The Colts announced that Anderson has been placed on injured reserve. They also waived cornerback Tony Carter, giving them a pair of roster spots.
