The Giants filled a big hole on their 53-man roster with someone even bigger than Johnathan Hankins.

The team announced they promoted Montori Hughes from their practice squad, after placing Hankins on injured reserve with a torn pectoral muscle.

The 350-pound Hughes entered the league as a fifth-round pick of the Colts. He played in 16 games for them in 2013-14, but after being cut in the preseason, signed with the Giants’ practice squad.

They also filled the vacancies on their practice squad by signing defensive tackle Louis Nix and linebacker Nico Johnson.

Nix, a former third-round pick of the Texans, has bounced on and off the Giants roster this season, since being awarded on waivers in September.
