Joseph Randle isn’t currently an NFL player, but he’s still subject to NFL discipline.
The NFL has suspended Randle four games for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The suspension stems from a February incident in which Randle was the subject of a domestic violence call. Randle was not criminally charged in connection with the incident, but the NFL conducted its own investigation and found that Randle violated league policies.
The Cowboys cut Randle last week and he cleared waivers, meaning he is currently a free agent. He could sign with another team, but he’d have to sit out his suspension before practicing or playing with a new team.
Realistically, it’s unlikely that Randle will sign with anyone this year. Randle should focus on getting his personal life straightened out and trying to convince some team to take a chance on him in 2016. He’s only 23 years old and still has time to get his career back on track, even if it’s not going to happen this year.
