The Broncos did the expected on Friday by ruling out linebacker DeMarcus Ware and listing quarterback Peyton Manning as probable, but there’s less clarity on whether they’ll have wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders in the lineup against the Chiefs.

Sanders missed a third straight day of practice due to the ankle injury he suffered early in last weekend’s loss to the Colts. Coach Gary Kubiak expressed confidence earlier this week that Sanders would be able to play, but his inability to get on the field at all this week casts that in some doubt.

If Sanders can’t go, the Broncos will have to look to Andre Caldwell, Cody Latimer and Bennie Fowler more often against Kansas City.

Manning is set to start after being listed with a foot injury this week while Ware will miss at least this week’s game with a back injury. Ware missed one game earlier in the year with the same issue and may have missed a second game if not for Denver’s bye week before their Week Seven date with the Packers.
