Getty ImagesThe Ravens placed a pair of players on season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday and the moves continued on Wednesday.
Center Jeremy Zuttah won’t play again this year due to a torn pectoral muscle. Zuttah had started 25 straight regular season games for the team since being acquired in a trade with the Buccaneers before the start of the 2014 season.
Zuttah is signed through the 2018 season and has done a solid job since arriving in Baltimore, so he should be back for another go next season. John Urschel will take over in the middle of the offensive line for the rest of this year.
The Ravens filled Zuttah’s roster spot by promoting running back Terrance West from the practice squad. West signed with the team last week after being released by the Titans, who had acquired him in a trade with the Browns earlier this year. West was a third-round pick for Cleveland last year and ran for 673 yards on 171 carries.
Our injury prone O-Line is a problem…Monroe, KO, and Zuttah always banged up. Seasons over anyways, so lets see what Towson can do.
All I know about him is that he had a huge attitude problem in Cleveland and he couldn’t hold onto the ball in Tennessee. He couldn’t even dress on gameday. He’ll probably get too excited about playing Cleveland in 2 weeks and cough up the ball again
CHAPIONSHIP!! still have a chance to make the play offs…LOL
Runningback desperate league when Terrence West gets a 3rd chance…
Who was the second player they put on IR?
Sucks, he was playing well this season. Good chance to see what some young guys can do now.
The ravens website announcement went something like this:
“Zuttah sent to IR, was responsible for multiple sacks and holding calls.”
lets get everyone well and ready for next year. this year is lost
How about a little love from the Baltimore Ravens for a local Towson Guy. This RB had the NCAA Record for total yards, so he can’t be too bad. I am not a Ravens fan, but I am a former Towson Fullback and so yeah; a little biased. I hope West understands this is likely his last chance.
It’ll be interesting to see what the younger and untested guys can do coming off the bench. It’s clear now that the best way forward for the Ratbirds is to figure out who they still want around next season (since this one is a lost cause) and work on rebuilding in 2016.
Whatever. At this point I’m watching the season to see which young guys have break out potential. Oz and company have a head start on next season and they have A LOT of work to do.
