Patriots-Texans Week 14 game flexed into prime time

The Patriots will be back in prime time in two weeks, as the NFL has moved their date with the Texans into prime time.

The league announced today that the New England at Houston game on Sunday, December 13 that had previously been scheduled for a 1 p.m. Eastern kickoff has now been moved to NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

The decision comes as the Texans continue to turn their season around and look like playoff contenders. Today’s win moved Houston to 6-5. The Patriots remain one of the league’s two undefeated teams, so the league is always happy to showcase them in prime time.

When the schedule first came out, the prime time game in Week 14 was supposed to be Seahawks at Ravens. But with Baltimore now 3-7, the league had to get that game out of prime time. That game is now at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, and a better game is in prime time.

Good thing Manning isn’t playing tonight with it snowing in Denver. Snow + Pats = Manning crawling into a hole.

    Hate the flex. Hate it.

  3. scoops1 says: Nov 29, 2015 10:15 PM

this is the best they could?!?!

Fox has 2 solid games and they can’t protect both em: Falcons vs Panthers or Cowboys vs Packers.

Can I just watch a game that doesn’t end at midnight?

  9. xbox4wwe says: Nov 29, 2015 10:21 PM

Come on I wanted to see how many pick 6s Matt Schaub could throw in 1 game.

  10. learysdisciples says: Nov 29, 2015 10:24 PM

Yeah! More Brady home videos too!

  11. vancouversportsbro says: Nov 29, 2015 10:24 PM

The storyline here will be how bill o Brien couldn’t handle the cheating culture and left to do some good elsewhere. I don’t blame him. Tonight they hold on every play and their defence plays as if they know every play call.

Love it, i’m too cheap to pay for all the games and don’t get the Pats in market.

  15. NRG Stadium's Wonky Grass says: Nov 29, 2015 10:35 PM

Cool. Good story lines, playoff implications, a chance for the NFL watching world to get another look at DeAndre Hopkins.

  16. bassplucker says: Nov 29, 2015 10:45 PM

Because the Patriots don’t get enough primetime games already.

with ravens/browns coming up on monday night, espn is pissed…

  18. eagles512 says: Nov 29, 2015 10:59 PM

Like the game but games in Houston come across terribly on tv for some reason.

  19. raiders4life says: Nov 29, 2015 11:07 PM

When will the Raiders be flexed into primetime?

  20. harry hands says: Nov 29, 2015 11:25 PM

The flex sucks. I’m glad it ain’t my Vikes…we tend to pee down our leg on prime time games.
If we could just play at noon CT every week…we’d be unstoppable!

  21. edgarpoe3 says: Nov 29, 2015 11:30 PM

I’ll pass. I’m just not into watching cheaters and crybabies. 😉

  22. arctantheta says: Nov 29, 2015 11:34 PM

i feel bad for all the east coasters who stay up till midnight to watch SNF. glad it ends around 7pm where I live.
Also, too bad about Gronk, he may be out for that one too now.

I don’t like NE, but they are getting hosed by the officials in this Denver game.

  25. texashawk76 says: Nov 29, 2015 11:51 PM

Pretty sure the letterman jackets are staying in the closet this time.

  26. wallabear says: Nov 30, 2015 12:02 AM

Cam-rolina is now the only undefeated team in the NFL. As was the case with Brady-to-Drew Bledsoe, the Big Bro Manning era in Denver has now come to an end, with Brock Osweiler showing his mettle versus Belichick-Brady in snowy Colorado. Where will Big Bro Manning land in 2017: Jets? Cleveland? San Francisco? I know it sounds funny, but how about Big Bro Manning to Tennessee with Mariota back to his “macDaddy” Chip Kelly in Philly? The NFL is so exciting sometimes, isn’t it? (wink!)

  27. jshawaii22 says: Nov 30, 2015 12:05 AM

Figures they move the Seahawks to a 1pm start instead of giving them a break by moving to 4pm.

  28. ampatsisahypocrite says: Nov 30, 2015 12:06 AM

    Tom Brady owned by Osweiler.

  29. metlifeteardown says: Nov 30, 2015 12:07 AM

This is news. There is an awesome game on now.

JJ Watt his Brees 7 times today on top of 2 sacks. Chandler Jones DPOY??? Get real. This is a non-conversation.

  31. uknepatsfan says: Nov 30, 2015 12:27 AM

    No point now.

Unless you want to see more one sided refereeing on Prime Time TV.

  32. esdawt says: Nov 30, 2015 12:41 AM

Great, the nation can watch the Patriots get bent over by the refs again.

When the Packers play in Oakland in Week #15!

Actually, the Bengals asked to be flexed out so they wouldn’t be embarrassed again in “prime time” against the lowly 49ers.

Really? I’m not for or against any of these four teams, but the Falcons are fading fast and will probably get trampled. As for the other game, who wants to watch Dallas lose again? And, how is that even a “solid game” considering they’ve won 2 (two) games all year?

  35. thetooloftools says: Nov 30, 2015 1:34 AM

“The Patriots remain one of the league’s two undefeated teams, “? – did you watch the game tonight or did you just post this early to make it look relevant at the time?

  36. beastmode5150 says: Nov 30, 2015 2:14 AM

    Lol

  37. richardparker123 says: Nov 30, 2015 6:10 AM

Great. Collinsworth can book the honeymoon suite for him and Brady now. I mean seriously, did anybody listen to how thick he was laying on his schoolgirl gushing over Tom Brady at the end of last night’a game in Denver? Somebody’s gotta air check this dude and teach him to at least fake impartiality. I mean I heard wedding bells…

  38. Mo' Pro Babble says: Nov 30, 2015 6:49 AM

I had this game as even so no surprise that Pats lose. Losing Hightower & Gronk is just too much.

Congrats to Denver. Unless those 2 return playoffs are not a lock. Even if Pats win the division it won’t matter.

  39. haven1077 says: Nov 30, 2015 7:44 AM

I think the Cartoon Network should sign a deal with the NFL and take the worst game each week. It would give the Browns and the Jags the chance to be highlighted in Prime Time.
