Chargers fire special teams coach

The Chargers fired special teams coach Kevin Spencer on Wednesday.

The team announced the news in a brief statement. The Chargers’ special teams units have struggled all season and had a punt blocked in the fourth quarter of last week’s win in Jacksonville.

Spencer had been with the team since 2013. Craig Aukerman, who’d been the assistant special teams coach, takes over.

An early December firing on a Wednesday of an assistant coach isn’t something that happens often, but it’s been that kind of season for the Chargers.

Why don’t they fire the idiot who gave (Cry Me A) Rivers a huge contract that he hasn’t earned?

    “Crap Blockerman”

Lol. Rivers has single handedly been the only bright spot for SD this year and is probably tired of carrying everyone else. If he’s not the #1 QB in Fantasy points this year, he isn’t far off.

This is just a prelude to the grand finale. The rest of the staff will be joining them in a few weeks.

    So THAT was the problem….

Not sure if you have watched the Chargers play, but Rivers contract was justified. Team leader and playing at a very high level, despite lack of supporting cast and a multitude of injuries across the whole line up.

Too bad. He would have loved LA

Who else was taken aback by the fact that there is even an “assistant” special teams coach?

Well that’s justice for you. The Chargers had more return yards last week than in all their other games combined!

As long as the Spanos family owns the Chargers, it does not matter if they are in San Diego, Los Angeles, St. Louis, San Antonio or anywhere else. They will accomplish nothing of significance.
