The Bills promoted rookie tight end Nick O’Leary from the practice squad Tuesday.
O’Leary, the grandson of golf legend Jack Nicklaus, was a sixth-round pick of the Bills last spring. He was released at the end of the preseason and signed to the practice squad.
The Bills waived tight end Matthew Mulligan, who had played in all 12 games and started five.
O’Leary won the John Mackey Award as college football’s top tight end last fall. He had one catch for 8 yards in the preseason.
