The Packers have to change long snappers after placing reliable veteran Brett Goode on injured reserve Tuesday.

Rookie Rick Lovato has been signed to take over as the long snapper. Lovato is a rookie who was cut by the Bears in August.

Goode suffered a knee injury in last week’s win at Oakland.

Goode’s streak of 137 consecutive regular season games will come to an end. He won the job as an injury replacement in the 2008 preseason after twice having been cut by the Jaguars.
