Brent Grimes’ wife slams Tannehill in Twitter rant

Earlier this season, the wife of Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes made headlines when she was arrested at a Dolphins game in Miami for battery of a police officer and resisting arrest with violence.

Those charges against Miko Grimes were later reduced and ultimately dropped, although Mrs. Grimes lost her gig as a co-host of a radio show on WQAM after the arrest. That’s left her to use social media to share her thoughts about the Dolphins and she had a bunch of them on Sunday evening after the latest Dolphins loss.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill and several members of the media that cover the team were the target. Her Twitter account is private, but SliceMiami has posted them all. Among the tweets are one asking how many people have to get fired before “you realize [Tannehill’s] the problem” and another saying she should have known the Dolphins would lose because Tannehill didn’t complete a pass in two-minute drills against the “practice squad defense.”

“I knew this QB stunk the minute we signed to this team but I tried to keep quiet so I didn’t discourage bae from believing in his team,” Grimes wrote.

Armando Salguero and Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald and Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post were also targets for having an “agenda” to destroy the defense and “make everything look like Tannehill is not the problem.” There are more vulgar comments mixed into the rant, which is likely the kind of message that, per Salguero, led to at least five discussions with Grimes over time about his wife’s comments in the media because they “reflect poorly on the organization.”

Brent Grimes is signed for two more years in Miami, although the latest round of commentary from his wife may have an impact on whether he’s around for them or if the latest attempt to build a stable, winning organization leads them in a different direction.
