The Bills have claimed wide receiver Leonard Hankerson off waivers from the Patriots, ESPN’s Field Yates reported Monday.
Hankerson started the season as a starter and contributor for the Falcons. He was injured, then released, then signed by the Patriots and waived last weekend.
Earlier Monday, the Bills placed wide receiver and special teamer Marcus Easley on injured reserve with a “major” knee injury. Claiming Hankerson seems to be a low-risk proposition for the Bills, who will get a look at him this week and possibly keep him in their future plans.
A third-round pick of the Redskins in 2011, Hankerson has 107 career receptions and nine touchdowns.
