The 49ers have activated rookie running back Mike Davis off the team’s injured reserve/designated for return list.

Davis is eligible to play in Sunday’s season finale after missing seven games due a broken hand. The 49ers recently placed running back Shaun Draughn on injured reserve, so there should be opportunity for Davis to play and to try to improve on his season rushing average of 0.96 yards per carry. He has 24 rushing yards on 25 attempts on the season.

Davis was a fourth round pick last spring.

Linebacker Michael Wilhoite was placed on injured reserve to create a roster spot for Davis.
