The Chiefs held off a late Raiders rally to secure a 23-17 victory Sunday and extend their winning streak.

The Chiefs head to the postseason having won 10 straight after a 1-5 start. The 10-game win streak is a franchise record.

They’ll be the AFC’s No. 5 seed and play at the Texans next weekend. The Bengals will be the No. 3 seed and host the Steelers. The Broncos won the AFC West and the No. 1 seed by holding off the Chargers Sunday.

The Chiefs led 14-0 after the first quarter Sunday on an Alex Smith touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin and a Spencer Ware run. After the Raiders cut it to 14-10 at halftime the Chiefs got a safety on a blocked punt by D.J. Alexander, then a 15-yard pass from Smith to Demetrius Harris to make it 23-14 with 7:03 left in the third quarter.

The Raiders finish 7-9. They got a touchdown pass from Derek Carr to Michael Crabtree with 2:01 left Sunday to get within six points and got the ball back at their own 11 with 1:34 left but were unable to mount a drive.
