Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston made his first appearance at practice in over a month on Friday, leading the Chiefs to list him as questionable to play against the Raiders in Week 17.
According to multiple reports on Sunday morning, Houston’s return to game action will have to wait at least another week. Ed Werder of ESPN and Albert Breer of NFL Media both report that Houston is not expected to play due to the knee injury that’s kept him out since Week 12.
Whether they are the AFC West champs or a Wild Card team, the Chiefs will have a game next weekend and Houston’s return to practice bodes well for his chances of being in the lineup for that game. That’s a good thing for the Kansas City pass rush as Houston still leads the team with 7.5 sacks despite his extended absence.
Werder adds that linebacker Tamba Hali is expected to play. Hali didn’t play last week and was listed as questionable with thumb and knee injuries after missing all three days of practice this week.
