Former NFL General Manager Ernie Accorsi is consulting with the Lions as they look for a new General Manager and he said last week that owner Martha Ford is “tired of losing.”

It’s no surprise, then, that two of the first names linked to the opening come from the two teams that played in the Super Bowl last year and returned to the postseason this year.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the team has asked for and received permission to interview Patriots director of pro scouting Bob Quinn. Quinn has been in that role since 2012 and has been in the Patriots organization in a variety of scouting and personnel jobs since 2000.

Schefter reports that the team is also scheduling an interview with Seahawks co-director of player personnel Trent Kirchner. Kirchner has been in the Seattle organization since 2010 and interviewed with the Jets last year before Mike Maccagnan was hired as their General Manager.

The Lions plan to hire a General Manager before making a final decision on coach Jim Caldwell’s future with the team, although reports over the weekend indicated that ownership would like to retain Caldwell.
