Perhaps the reason Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel continues to behave in an immature manner is because he knows whatever he does, there’s always that one guy who will catch him when he falls.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones kept the home fires burning for his unrequited draft crush, saying yet again on Tuesday that he wouldn’t rule out taking a chance on a young quarterback who happened to be on someone else’s roster.
During his weekly radio show on 105.3 the Fan, Jones was asked if the Cowboys would be interested in “young backup quarterbacks available this off-season who come with some risk.”
“Let’s just put it like this: We all would be aware that to bet on [Kellen] Moore for our backup quarterback has elements of risk to it,” Jones said, via Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I’m not so sure that that’s any riskier than anything you would do with a decision in the future.
“On the other hand, what would enhance me taking risk is a big bigger upside. If that upside is there, that ol’ risk-reward situation, then yeah. This is as far as we’re going to go here now with this, because I don’t want to get involved in any type of tampering situation. We’d take some risk.”
Gee, I wonder who he’s talking about.
Of course, we could always broaden the search to include Washington’s Robert Griffin III, but Jones’ obsession with Manziel probably supersedes things like having done something on the field at some point.
