As the Vikings prepare for their first outdoor home playoff game since 1976, the best running back in franchise history didn’t practice.
According to the official injury report, Adrian Peterson missed practice on Wednesday with a back injury. He suffered the injury during Sunday night’s NFC North championship game against the Packers. He was absent from the game for a while, but he returned later. After the game, he told NBC’s Michele Tafoya that he’ll play on Sunday against Seattle.
Also missing practice for the Vikings on Wednesday were defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis (ankle) and fullback Zach Line (illness). Defensive end Everson Griffen (shoulder) and defensive tackle Linval Jospeh (foot) practiced on a limited basis.
Receiver Adam Theilen fully participated with shoulder and back injuries.
The last time the Vikings played the Seahawks, players like safety Harrison Smith and linebacker Anthony Barr were banged up. This time, they’re not even on the injury report, which could help make the outcome something other than Seattle, 38-7.
