Ravens assistant General Manager Eric DeCosta has drawn interest before, and every time he’s turned it down.
The Titans are no different.
According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, DeCosta has declined a chance to interview for the Tennessee gig.
While he has a good job now and is positioned to succeed Ozzie Newsome some day, at this point it’s reasonable to wonder if there’s a job that would tempt him.
Some guys want to work in the biggest markets and under the brightest lights, but Nashville’s a mid-size market like Baltimore, and there are things about the job that are attractive.
Having a quarterback and the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft gives whoever ends up with that job tremendous flexibility and potential, and he’ll get to pick a head coach.
On the other hand, the uncertainty about ownership there could be enough to drive promising candidates away.
