He became a bit of a footnote — and probably rightly so — but Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman did kind of lead his team to the top seed in the AFC playoffs last week.

Hillman got his recognition today, as he was named AFC offensive player of the week.

He ran 15 times for for 117 yards (7.8 yards per carry) and two touchdowns, including the game-winner in the final five minutes.

It was lost in the shuffle of quarterback Peyton Manning coming off the bench to lead them to the win, but if Manning’s going to do more in the playoffs, he’s going to need Hillman to keep running that way.
