Colts name Rob Chudzinski offensive coordinator

Jimmy Haslam, Rob Chudzinski AP

When Chuck Pagano stayed in Indianapolis, it figured one of his trusted lieutenants was staying with him.

The Colts did the expected Thursday night, naming Rob Chudzinski their new offensive coordinator.

The former Browns head coach took over as the Colts play-caller when Pep Hamilton was fired midseason, so it stood to reason that he’d hang around.

Chudzinski has an impressive resume as an assistant, and his ability to make chicken salad the second half of the year helped keep the Colts relevant despite the ridiculous string of injuries that hit them at the quarterback position.

Chud’s a good guy. Wish him nothing but the best.

He really got screwed in Cleveland and there are a lot of Browns fans who believe things would be much better today if he had been given more than one season.

Good move. Luck’s best game this year was the single game with Chud as OC….against Denver of all teams. I won’t judge him off the rest of the season bc he had to game plan for Hasslebeck who is a West Coast style QB (and 40, behind a terrible line). Even then they did alright. Next year should be better with an upgraded line and healthy Luck

    I like this hire.
Maybe miracles do happen. For once we have good Coordinators we like.

So the dreaded “vote of confidence”

Followed by the hiring of a DC with head coaching experience – just in case😉

Would it kill the Colts not to be completely predictable for once?

It would be funny if he does so well that Cleveland comes calling in a year or two.

Upgraded line? Did you forget that Grigson is still GM. I expect he’s just going to place 5 U.S. mailboxes on the line of scrimmage next year.

Great move. Should have been given more time in Cleveland.

    There, that will fix everything.

Good move. Yeah Luck had a great game once Chud took over. I’m curious to see how he and Luck would do with a full season together

Surprised that he had no interviews for H.C.

Pagano is a CHUMP, you have heard coaches who quit rather than fire their coaches, he blames everyone but himself! What a tool! Chump, right, what an outstanding man.

Like kyblue said, it does seem like Pagano & Grigson said whatever was necessary to keep their jobs & threw most of the Assistant Coaches under the bus. I predict both will be fired within 2 years.
